Fashion + Passion  = Harley

If you crack the nutshell of my life, you will find three main ingredients:  fashion design, passion and uber creativity. I am Harley DeOliveira. Born and raised in Brazil, I moved to New York City to finish school and accelerate my journey in fashion design.  My objective is simple: to continue to enhance and refine the aesthetic talents with which I was born.

I completed two years of formal education at the Fashion Institute of Technology while interning as a fashion design assistant at a New York fashion productions house.  My responsibilities were multifaceted and helped solidify my resolve to pursue fashion design. Along this track, I have become familiar with all aspects of the industry: over the last ten years, I helped open clothing stores, worked for fashion photographers, managed a luxury jewelry store on Madison Avenue and designed a men’s swimwear plus accessories fashion show in Miami.  In 2012, I designed a collection of women’s corsets made from recycled toys. I showed this collection in a Brooklyn art gallery during New York Fashion Week.

I always find time to give back.  I volunteered for the British Consulate, selecting outfits to give to women saved from human trafficking in the United States.

I am enthusiastically and confidently prepared for the next step in my route to design success.  I embrace fashion as an art form and have developed a solid reputation for creating unique pieces for various concepts, always adding that special edge for my clients.
